This is a new mosque to serve the Muslim community of Bandar Baru Ayer Itam. Masjid Baru Ayer Itam is expected to be the main mosque serving the villages of Kampung Baru, Kampung Pisang and Kampung Lembah Ria, traditional Malay villages that have existed since the 19th century. Masjid Baru Ayer Itam is located along Jalan Thean Teik, a short distance from Sunshine Farlim hopping Mall. source
